Farewell

Farewells are always sad. I hadnt experinced any till last year when we the students of the ninth grade were supposed to bid farewell to our seniors the members of the tenth grade.All went fine. It was time for everyone to click snaps and say good-bye. All the tenth graders were sad for they had been in the same school since they began schooling.
For me it was usual to leave a school and go because I had been doing that since I had started schooling.I thought it was too foolish to cry just because you were leaving your school.
It was my Games Captain who came over to meet me.She hugged me and said ,"now when will tht time come when we will play football and basketball together!!!"
And then I realised leaving school was something more than just leaving the stone building behind. It meant leaving all the friends you made in your young age.It meant leaving all the teachers who cared for you like their own children.
It meant leaving a little world you created fo yourself in those 12 years of your school life.
Today as i write this here.... I think about my farewell which will be given to be my juniors and I think about whether i will fel the same thing for my school.......as they felt.
